Henri Armand Slezynger Chairman of the Board

Mr. Slezynger is the founder and controlling shareholder of the group, and acts as Chairman of the Board since 2011. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of ABIQUIM, a chemical industries association to which he has been appointed president for the first time in 1981. Prior to founding Unigel, he held executive positions at Pfizer do Brasil, where he worked from 1959 to 1970, and served as vice-president of Sindicato de Resinas do Estado de São Paulo, the association of resins producers in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.

Mr. Slezynger holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and executive specialization courses from Carnegie Mellon University.

Marc Buckingham Slezynger Vice-Chairman

Mr. Slezynger has been a member of the board of directors since 2015, where he acts as vice-chairman. Prior to that, he held executive positions at the company, serving as an export manager from 1993 to 1999, and finance executive from 1999 to 2015. Marc is an entrepreneur, and is a shareholder in companies such as Spumapac, a packaging company, and Compostos Plásticos de Engenharia (CPE), a thermoplastic compounds company.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and chemistry from Florida Institute of Technology and a corporate governance specialization from Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa (IBGC).

Marcello de Simone Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. De Simone has been a member of the board of directors since June 2021. He was also member of board of directors of other Brazilian Companies such as Refinaria de Petróleo Riograndense and ConectCar Mobilidade Eletrônica. Prior to that, he held leading position at Ultrapar, Banco Pactual, Andersen Consulting, among others.

Mr. De Simone holds a civil engineering  degree from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and an executive MBA from PDG-EXEC. Additionaly, he is a member of the audit borad of the Instituto Pró-Saber SP.

José Borges Matias Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Matias joined Unigel in 2019 as a member of the board of directors. Since 2018, he serves as managing partner at Mastersenso, a consulting firm based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to joining Unigel, Mr. Matias was chief executive officer for Latin America and Coatis global business unit president at Solvay Group (2014-2018). From 2006 to 2011, He also served as chief procurement officer Rhodia Group, a position that he then held until 2013 at Solvay following its acquisition of Rhodia in 2011. Mr. Matias holds a degree in aeronautical engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) and a master’s in finance from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Weber Ferreira Porto Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Porto joined Unigel’s board of directors in 2019. He has more than 30 years of experience in the chemicals industry sector. Mr. Porto has held several positions at the Evonik Degussa Group, one of the world’s largest specialty chemical firms, and most recently was their president for the Central and South American operations. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Faculadade de Enghenharia Industrial (FEI).

Roberto Noronha Santos Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Noronha joined Unigel in 2018 and serves as Chief Executive Officer. With over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry, he worked at Unigel from 2004 to 2016, among other functions, as the Vice President of Operations. He was also an executive at Dow Chemical between 1976 and 2004, and in recent years, served as General Director for South and Central Americas at SABIC.

Mr. Noronha holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Aeronautical Technological Institute (ITA), a degree in law from the University of São Paulo (USP), a postgraduate degree in business administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and an advanced management from INSEAD.

Daniel Zilberknop Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Zilberknop joined Unigel in 2002 and has been the Chief Financial Officer since 2011. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance management. He has held several different positions in our group, serving as controller and finance officer at Polo in 2002, finance officer at Unigel in São Paulo in 2005 and general manager at Unigel Mexico in 2011.

Mr. Zilberknop holds a business administration degree from Universidade Católica de Pelotas and a post-graduate degree in finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). He also holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).

Daniel Scarmeloti da Fonseca Financial Planning Executive Officer

Mr. Fonseca joined Unigel in 2015 as Controllership and Financial Planning Executive Officer. Prior to joining Unigel, he worked for Grupo Brasfanta as Corporate Controller and for 17 years for PricewaterhouseCoopers Brasil as audit senior manager, rotating in several areas. He also worked for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Auditores Independentes and Banco Bradesco.

Mr. Fonseca holds an accounting degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), and holds an executive MBA from the Brazilian Business School (BBS). He also obtained an IFRS certificate from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Murilo Cruz Garcia Chief Legal Officer

Mr. Garcia joined Unigel in 2015 as Chief Legal Officer and in 2019, amassed the functions of Head of Human Resources. Prior to joining Unigel, he acted legal manager at Grupo Vicunha for 8 years and held positions in firms of the automotive industry and in law offices.

Mr. Garcia holds a bachelor’s and a post-graduate degree in Commercial Law from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (FMU), an MBA in Business Direction from Fundação Armando Alves Penteado (FAAP), an LLM in Corporate Law from Insper (formerly known as IBMEC-SP) and a Compliance Certificate from Fordham Law School.

Luiz Felipe Setten Fustaino Investor Relations Manager

Mr. Fustaino joined Unigel in 2017, acted as Investor Relations manager until 2018, and later returned to the company in 2020 to take on the position of Investor Relations Director. He has experience in the petrochemical and in the commodities sectors starting in 2010, having worked in the corporate strategy area at Braskem, and in investor relations at Nexa Resources and Tenda Construtora.

Mr. Fustaino has bachelor’s degrees in social communications from Faculdade Cásper Líbero and in economics from Universidade de São Paulo. He also holds an executive MBA in finance from Insper with an extension at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA Anderson).

Marcelo Natal Commercial Director

Mr. Natal joined Unigel in 2011. He is currently our Styrenics Commercial Director, a position he has held since 2017. He has 22 years of experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry. He has held several different positions in our group, serving as PMMA/PC commercial manager, PS export manager and SM commercial manager. Prior to his current role at Unigel he held positions at Borealis, Imerys and Braskem.

Mr. Natal holds a chemical engineering degree from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Poli-USP), an executive MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and a graduate degree in B2B marketing from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).

Silvio César dos Santos Commercial Director

Mr. Santos joined Unigel in July, 2020 as Commercial Director of Acrylic Business. Before joining Unigel, Mr. Santos served as Commercial Director at Brakem for 11 years, working in the domestic and international markets for petrochemical products and their derivatives, and Commercial Manager at COPESUL for 12 years, dedicated to commercial, supply-chain, planning and process for feedstock, petrochemicals and fuels.

Mr. Santos has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Specialization in
Petrochemicals from Instituto Alberto Luiz Coimbra de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa de Engenharia (COPPE). He also holds an executive MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

Carlos Eduardo de Freitas Pereira Industrial Executive Officer

Mr. Pereira joined Unigel in March, 2020 as Industrial Executive Officer for Acrylics and Styrene plants in Bahia, Brazil. Prior to Unigel, he acted as COO for several Chemical companies, such as Petroquimica Suape, Citepe, Mossi & Ghissolfi and RhodiaSter. His more than 30 years of experience includes extensive knowledge in large Green Field Project implementation and startup, as well as definition and acquisition of technology and assets.

Mr. Pereira holds an Engineering degree from Unicamp, a post-graduate degree in Economics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUCCAMP), and Specialization degrees in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and in Strategic Management from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC)

Edson de Paiva Alves Industrial Executive Officer

Mr. Alves started his professional career by joining Unigel in 1995, and accordingly, has 23 years of experience in the chemicals industry. He is currently the Industrial Executive Officer, a position he has held since 2016. Prior to that, he held several leadership positions, serving as executive officer for the technology, projects and supply chain areas.

Mr. Alves holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (Poli-USP), and a master’s degree in Energy from Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS).

José Roberto Heleno de Marquis Industrial Executive Officer

Mr. Marquis joined Unigel in 2001 and serves as Industrial, QEHS and Sustainability Executive Officer since 2015. He has held positions in several production areas of the company, and has been responsible for quality, environmental, health & safety conditions in the operations and the sustainable development in both processes and value chain. Prior to joining Unigel, he has worked for Dixie Toga. He counts with more than 25 years of experience in the chemicals industry.

Mr. Marquis holds a chemical engineering degree from Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial (FEI), and specializations in Environmental Management and Technologies, and Industrial Management, both from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), and in Safety Engineering from Universidade Santa Cecília (Unisanta). He also holds an executive MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

Luiz Antonio Nitschke Supply Chain Director

Mr. Nitschke joined Unigel in 2019 as a Supply Chain Director returning to the company after a period of 2 years at Eternit, where he served as head of operations. He had previously worked at Unigel between 2015 and 2017. Mr. Nitschke has more than 30 years of experience in leading Brazilian and international companies, such as Alcoa, Rhodia, Ipiranga and Braskem.

He holds a Chemical Engineer bachelor degree and a specialization in marketing and administration with an International Executive MBA from Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA-USP).
